Sport at Christ Church Preparatory School and College is flourishing. We offer tennis, swimming, cricket, boys’ soccer, girls’ soccer, boys’ hockey, girls’ hockey, netball, athletics, cross country, golf, and basketball.

We believe in a bottom-up approach, hence, our nestling sports programme for grade 1 & 2’s is seen as the foundation of our sports programme. Our nestling sports programme encompasses hand-eye-coordination, foot-eye-coordination, sports specific training, and mini sports.  This programme lays the foundation for competitive sport that starts in grade 3.

Our u/9, u/10, u/11, u/12, and u/13 sport are the most attended in terms of numbers. These age groups form healthy competition, and most teams consist of more than one team. The school achieves many good results due to the level of competition internally and externally, coupled with high quality coaching.

Our various college sports teams compete in very competitive leagues around Gauteng. Our swimming and athletics teams both compete in the A-league. Our 1^st XI cricket team won 2 league titles in the last few years whilst our 1^st team netball girls are the winners of several tournaments.  Both our junior and senior girls’ hockey teams are ranked in the top 3 schools in their league, and our 3 college soccer teams rank amongst the best in Gauteng.

To maintain a high level of performance, we have a high-performance sports programme that runs all year round. The aim of this programme is to provide an elite level of coaching and prepare our athletes for competition, by focusing on specific and identified areas, including the fitness and wellness of our athletes.

Our sports facilities consist of 2 full size soccer fields, 2 junior soccer fields, 4 tennis courts, 4 netball courts, 1 hockey field, 1 junior cricket field, 1 senior cricket field, 4 outdoor cricket nets, an indoor cricket facility, turf practice pitches, an artificial soccer and netball facility with lights, an indoor heated pool, an outdoor heated pool, and a gym.

Our school is home to current and former international and provincial players who excel in their chosen sport. We believe that every student at our school must run his/her own race, therefore, we have acquired the best coaches around to ensure that every student benefits from our coaching for development programme. Our coaching staff include several former or current international and/or provincial and/or professional players and coaches.
